Ty Stein graduated from the University of Colorado in 1975 with a Bachelor of Science with honors in Aerospace Engineering. He earned his medical degree in 1978 from Loyola-Stritch School of Medicine, and completed his residency at SIU Affiliates.
 
He has been in private practice since 1984 and co-founded Fox Valley Internal Medicine in 1996. Dr. Stein is board certified in Internal Medicine and Critical Care Medicine. He is also Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certified and Advanced Wilderness Life Support (AWLS) certified.
